It was originally used for the processing of hops and is set in a traditional farmyard setting, which fell into disuse with the decline of the hop industry. The farm moved next door into a modern farmhouse and buildings. It is approached down a long drive off a very quiet lane with the owner's 16th century farmhouse adjacent.
